A New Thing

It is a new decade. It is a new year. The expiry of old things usually lead to the new things. The promise of God according to Isaiah 43:18-19 says “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The promised of God is yes and amen. Whatever God says will surely come to pass. It means a new thing is on the way.

However, Luke 5:36-39 ” And he spake also a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish. But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved. No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.”
To experience the new thing from God, you must put away the old thing and the old man. The old thing is sin and the old man is the sinful life. James 1:15 says “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”

To become a new man, you need to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and say goodbye to sin. Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” If you can embrace this new reality, then your era of emergence into a new thing has started.

Happy New Year.
